Screening and Awards Gala Wednesday November 5th, 2008 in Toronto

Join us for a free screening of the “best of our sky filmfest” at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto. Show starts at 7pm, so arrive early to get a good seat.

The exclusive Awards Gala takes place later that same night at the Spoke Club in Toronto.

2008 Star Jury Announced

Members include Dan Aykroyd, Noah Cowan, Wendy Crewson, Colm Feore, Arsinée Khanjian, Andrea Martin, Patricia Rozema, Rob Stewart and Yves Simoneau.

- Selection of Short Films Now on Air Canada Flights -

MONTREAL, July 4, 2008 — The Air Canada enRoute Student Film Festival today announced Actors Dan Aykroyd, Wendy Crewson, Colm Feore, Arsinée Khanjian and Andrea Martin, Canadian Film Directors Patricia Rozema, Rob Stewart and Yves Simoneau and Toronto International Film Festival CEO Noah Cowan have been selected as jury members for the 2008 Festival. Since July 1, and continuing through November, a selection of students’ short films are available to three million monthly passengers on Air Canada flights.

Throughout the screening period, the jury members will review the selected student short films, ranking their top 4 and nominating films for awards. The awards are divided into five categories: Best Student Film, Achievement in Animation, Achievement in Direction, Destination Inspiration and, new this year, the People’s Choice Award.

The winner of Best Student Film receives a brand new 2009 Ford Focus vehicle and an all-inclusive trip for two to an international film festival courtesy of Air Canada.

This is the second year of the festival. Films are culled from hundreds of entries from film students across the country. Air Canada passengers can view the selected short films on the main screen televisions and individual personal seatback entertainment systems. The films can also be viewed online at www.enroutefilm.com.
